The Marchhütte is located directly on the Marchkinkele.

The Marchkinkele (2545 m above sea level), Italian „Cornetto di Confine“, is the southernmost peak of the Villgraten mountains on the border between South Tyrol (Italy) and East Tyrol (Austria).

The Marchkinkele offers views of, among other things, the two larger of the Three Peaks. It can be reached from Toblach via the Silvestertal, from Gsies via the Pfannhorn, from Vierschach via the Silvestereck (Silvester Chapel) and from Kalkstein in Villgraten. A hiking trail also leads to the mountain station of the Thurntaler lift. The Marchkinkele can also be reached by mountain bikers via the old military road.
